Claudia Plett has been chosen as the new Library Director by the Town of
Inola with the recommendation of the Library Board of Directors.
Claudia has been serving as Interim Director since May of last year.
Claudia is a long-time resident of Inola, widow of the late Robert Plett (Inola
Class of 1960), mother of 4 sons, all graduates of Inola, and grandmother of
5. She owns and operates her online quilting business,
www.claudiasquiltshoppe.com, as well.
Claudia has written and published 3 books--one published by Leisure Arts
"Slash Your Stash Quilts", and co-authored 2 quilting books published by
Martingale Publications "Loose Change" and more recently "More Loose Change"
to be released in October of this year. She and her co-author, Le Ann
Weaver of Claremore, travel to various state quilting guilds to present
programs and trunk shows of their work.
Claudia has worked as Assistant Librarian in previous years. She is
currently working toward her Level II certification through the Institute
for Public Librarians, Oklahoma Department of Libraries.
"The Library is one of Inola's greatest assets. It's an important
educational and technological source for all of our residents and their
children. I am honored to serve as its Director. I'm looking
forward to working with our patrons and implementing our new online catalog,
website, and other recent improvements," states Plett.
"I hope Inolans who may be unfamiliar with our services--for example, the
public access computers, photocopier, fax, summer reading program, as well
as over 12,000 items in the collection available for checkout--will come in
and get acquainted."
