Interlibrary Loan Policy
The Inola Public Library includes a cooperative library service known as Interlibrary Loan. Interlibrary Loan is a service whereby eligible Library borrowers may place requests for material not currently housed in the Inola Public Library. These materials are available from other libraries through the Oklahoma Department of Libraries Telecommunications Interlibrary System.
Eligible Library Borrowers
Each borrower must have a current Inola Public Library card and must not have any overdue Library materials.
Requests and Returns
Eligible borrowers may submit in person an Interlibrary Loan Request Form obtained from the Library staff. No telephone requests will be accepted. All Interlibrary Loan materials must be returned to the desk area by the due date. The borrower is responsible for return postage on materials.
Frequency of Requests
The Library Director reserves the right to limit the number of requests per week.
Renewals
Renewals are permitted at the discretion of the lending library
Fines, Lost/Damaged Material and Processing Fees
Borrowers are responsible for all charges incurred with the request, including postage charges. These may include fines for overdue materials, processing fees, rental fees, photocopy charges, replacement costs and fees associated with lost or damaged items.
Loss of Borrowing Privileges
Any borrower who fails to return Interlibrary Loan material after receiving an overdue notice will have their borrowing privileges suspended. The Inola Public Library will reinstate borrowing privileges when Interlibrary Loan materials are returned and full payment is made on outstanding fines.
Type of Requests
The Inola Public Library will make the needed effort to provide the requested material for the Library user. Entire issues of a magazine, journal or newspaper cannot be borrowed. A photocopy of the requested article will be sent.
